I’m very sure you probably seen this octopus in cartoon form, but in the sea? Unlikely, as this octopus is mainly found at the very bottom of the ocean. The dumbo octopus got its name as of course it is an octopus and its features also resemble the cute elephant from Disney, dumbo the dinosaur!
For those who also read the young scientist comics, I’m very sure u know that it was once featured in a comic (if I remembered correctly). Its scientific name is “Grimpoteuthis bathynectes” according to Wikipedia. Did you also know there are 17 species of Dumbo octopuses?

2)Giant isopod

I’m so sorry but i would seriously understand if u start screaming your head off after seeing the picture cause yes, it isn’t as cute as the dumbo octopus AT ALL. Do you know it can be eaten? Like this person bought it from Thailand and cooked it. I found it and just rewatched it it’s not really pleasant so i wont be sending them here. Anyways, they are a kind of crustaceans. Crustaceans include crabs, shrimps etc.
However, these creatures are able to survive extreme conditions at the sea floor as they have an exoskeleton that protects them from the intense pressure underwater.

Hope you enjoyed this! Look out for more!
